This state-of-the-art aerosol monitoring system from GRIMM is
the latest instrument in our renowned line of high speed counters. With a resolution of 1
count/liter, the aerosols are collected on a removable 47 mm Teflon filter for gravimetric
or chemical analysis. This unique dual technology is incorporated in all GRIMM
real-time particle size analyzers. The results can also be analyzed by our
1.177 GRIMM Software
program and displayed as:
-
particle counts in 15 channels
-
mass distribution in 15 classes
-
environmental PM-10, PM-2.5 and PM-1
-
occupational as inhalable, thoracic, respirables (alveolics)
-
temperature, humidity and wind speed changes
A
random sampling head collects the dust in accordance to the Johannesburger
Convention and leads the particles directly into the optical chamber with
the laser. There each particle is counted and classified by size and the
concentration is proportional to the collected time. Results can be
continuously given in one second or longer, up to one minute in intervals.
For use outside, a special weather housing was developed so the unit
can be used in rain, but without being sensitive to the humidity (particle
condensation). This system does not heat the sample pipe as heating the
sample pipe will simply drive out all the semi volatiles from the air and
lead to wrong results.
Key Features
Each
GRIMM Model 1.108 is hand
crafted one at a time to the highest engineering standards and in accordance
to the most current ISO 9000 requirements. Like all our 1.100 series
instruments, the Model 1.108 has optical technology for real-time monitoring
as well as a precise volume controlled air flow with an integrated PTFE
filter, so all the dust measured optically can be analyzed at a later date
for the composition and the gravimetric mass correlation.
Some
of the additional features:
-
Displays real time data in as little as six seconds.
-
Portable, weighing only 2.4 kg (5.4 lbs.) with re-chargeable battery.
-
15 different size channels
from 0.30 µm
to 20 µm
-
LCD displays results in particle counts or mass distribution.
-
Auto zeros and performs system self-diagnostics at the start of each
analysis.
-
Removable 47 mm PTFE filter for optional gravimetric and/or chemical
analysis of residue.
-
Removable data storage cards. Data cards can hold up to one year of data.
-
Warning limits can be preprogrammed into the unit with an audible alarm.
-
RS 232 serial port for optional computer interface.
-
Analog inputs for optional environmental sensors.
